
Yesterday we reported that the United States was the first “large country” to complete the DTV transition, from analog to digital-only programming, and that it had gone quite well. However, the long-awaited transition has not been smooth everywhere: Microsoft hasn’t been doing so well with making sure that Windows Media Center (WMC) users don’t have any issues. Although a Service Alert has been on the home menu page for Vista’s WMC users for the past three weeks, and it even included detailed messages about what to expect and what had to be done based on the tuner you were using, ATSC tuner users were told that “no additional action [was] needed.”
